Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Kokoei app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by freeweb (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a free service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Information Collection and Use

The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include:

• Device Identifier: A unique device ID assigned to your device is obtained and sent to Firebase Authentication for the purpose of anonymous authentication. This enables you to use the app without creating an account.
• Usage Data: The Application uses Google Analytics for Firebase (GA4) for usage analytics and may automatically collect user information. Information collected may include:
  • Screens viewed (screen name, time spent)
  • Application launch and close events
  • Lesson start and completion events
  • Quiz answer results (correct/incorrect)
  • Search queries
  • The operating system used on your mobile device
  • Time spent on the Application
• Data Sent to AI Features: When using the AI learning assistant feature, the content of chat messages and the text of the current lesson are sent to OpenAI's services via an API proxy server. This enables the generation of answers to questions and automatic quiz creation.
• Locally Stored Data: Learning progress, quiz scores, skill mastery data, streak days, and question attempt history (up to 1,000 most recent) are stored exclusively in your device's local storage (AsyncStorage) and are never sent to the cloud.

The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device. The Application does not ask you to provide personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, or phone number.

Third Party Access

The Application utilizes third-party services for the purpose of improving the Application and providing its services. These services have their own Privacy Policies about handling data. Below are the links to the Privacy Policy of the third-party service providers used by the Application:

• Google Analytics for Firebase — Application usage analytics and user behavior analysis
• Google AdMob — In-app advertising
• OpenAI — AI chat feature and AI quiz generation (via API proxy with authentication token access control)

The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

• as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
• when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
• with their trusted services providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.

Advertising

The Application uses Google AdMob for ad serving. We do not use advertising identifiers (Advertising ID / IDFA) for user tracking or behavioral targeting. Only non-personalized ads are served. However, device information and app usage data may be sent to Google as part of the ad serving process. For more information, please refer to Google AdMob's Privacy Policy.

Data Retention and Management

• Local Data: Locally stored data such as learning progress, quiz history, and skill mastery data is stored only on your device. This data is deleted from the device when the app is uninstalled.
• Firebase Analytics Data: Usage data collected by GA4 is managed in accordance with Google's data retention policy.
• AI Communication Data: Messages and lesson content sent during AI feature usage are used only for processing that session. The app does not permanently store conversation history in the cloud.
• Authentication Data: The device ID is used for anonymous authentication through Firebase Authentication. The Service Provider will retain this data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your information:

• Right to Access: You may request disclosure of your information held by the Service Provider through the Application.
• Right to Deletion: You may request deletion of your data provided through the Application.
• Right to Stop Data Collection: You can stop all collection of information by the Application by uninstalling it from your device.

If you would like the Service Provider to delete User Provided Data or have questions about data access, please contact them at eerf0309+kokoei@gmail.com and they will respond in a reasonable time.

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop all collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it. You may use the standard uninstall processes as may be available as part of your mobile device or via the mobile application marketplace or network.

Children

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discovers that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider (eerf0309+kokoei@gmail.com) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

This privacy policy is effective as of May 3, 2026.

Your Consent

By using the Application, you are consenting to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.
